GRID Technologies   Software Technologies  Algorithms for LHC

The Grid Track delivers unique theoretical and hands-on education on some of the most advanced GRID topics. It is organized by the European Data Grid (EDG) Project team, highly reputed for its unrivaled training programme. In addition, Dr. Carl Kesselman, one of the two historical inventors of the Grid, will unveil his vision of the Grid future.

The Software Track addresses the most relevant modern techniques and tools for large scale, distributed software development and handling. The lecturers will come from the USA, Italy, CERN to teach theory and organize practical work, as well and discussions on lessons learnt.

The Algorithm Track focuses on the particular challenges the LHC is facing for the event selection and event reconstruction processes It will describe the state-of-the algorithms needed, such as adaptive methods, and offers a range of practical exercises on the topic.

Organised by CERN in collaboration with the Institut für Hochenergiephysik (HEPHY), Österreichische Akademie der Wissenschaften, Vienna and the Donau Universität, Krems an der Donau, Austria
