Details of Activities in Sport Afternoon
All activities will start from and will end at the Thon Hotel

Canoeing (level of physical

Location: Osbaken Lake (5 km from GUC
campus - 20 min by car)
Description: Full half-day afternoon on
the Osbaken Lake. A break will be arranged n
the middle of the afternoon. For discovering
lake canoeing for an afternoon adventure.
Required skills and health condition
-
This is open to any participant ,
male and female, in reasonably
good physical condition.

Requires that participants are not
afraid of water and of course can swim.
Instructions
-
Dressing: sport shows, soft trouser
(short if warm), sport shirt, rain
jacket (depending on weather)
-
Small-size personal items (changing
clothes) can be safely stored in cars
(canoes are open with no waterproof
containers).
-
A warm casual change (e.g. pull over)
is recommended for use after the
canoeing session
-
Participants are advised to bring a
bottle of water.
How it will be organized?
-
Several instructors from the GUC
canoeing club will be available to
provide explanations and supervision all
over the afternoon.

A break will take place y the middle
of the journey, where warm food will be
provided

seated canoes and canoeing equipment,
life jackets; warm food during break

Location: Olympic Cavern Hall
Description: Session with climbing
professors for anyone interested in
discovering this sport

Description: An introductory session
to orienteering for those who would like to
discover this typical Nordic sport.
Required skills and health condition

When done by trained people who run
all over the race,, a rather demanding
sport.

CSC participants may either walk,
alternate walk and run, or run all over
the race.
Instructions

Dressing: walking or running clothes,
sport shoes, rain jacket if uncertain
weather

Participants are advised to bring a
bottle of water.
How it will be organized

Explanation, demonstration,
rehearsal (about one hour)

Simulated race though control points

Location: Forest above Gjøvik , start from
Eiktune Outdoor Museum
Description: Open to any participants, walk
in Norwegian forest above Gjøvik. The tour will last about 2 hours in
the Norwegian forests, with spectacular
views on the Lake
Mjøsa, Norway's biggest lake. The tour will depart from and return to the
Eiktune Outdoor Museum.

Location:
Lake Mjøsa,
Description: Sailing session for
beginners as well as more expert sailors.
For any participant , male and female,
interested in discovering lake sailing.
