Sorrento

The train station is just a few metres opposite the Hotel Oriente.

The  train will take you near to the main square of Sorrento.

The town is has many interesting places, including like shops, beaches, bars and much more. To return to the Hotel,  take the train that goes to Naples.

Vesuvius

It is possible to go to the top of the Vesuvius. This can easily be done within an afternoon.

To do this excursion, you must first go to the  “Ercolano Scavi” CIRCUMVESUVIANA station, taking the with the train to Naples form the Hotel Oriente

At the Ercolano Scavi station, you will find  a minibus taxi service that will take you to Vesuvius top parking and will bring you back to the Ercolano Scavi station after your walk to the top . The bus ticket costs about 5 euros per person.  The taxi journey may take about 30 to 40 min.

When at the top parking, you still have about 150 m (elevation) to walk to the summit. Depending on your physical condition, the walk may may take you from 20 min to possibly one hour. The trail to the summit is large, very easy, regular but steep  . Take water with you.

When back to the  Ercolano Scavi station, take the train that goes to Sorrento to return to the Hotel Oriente,.

Naples

You can reach this amazing city with the “CIRCUMVESUVIANA” train.

The train station is just a few meters opposite the Hotel Oriente.

You have to leave the train at Piazza Garibaldi station. I

n the city you will find a lot of shops, pubs, bars and much more.

If you would like to have an interesting experience, we suggest that you go to Pleibiscito Square, near the Naples Royal Palace. You can reach the square  with the R2 bus line. To know when to leave the train, look out for the castle, called “The Maschio Angioino”.is Pleibiscito Square s very close to the stop.

To return to the Hotel Oriente, you can take the R2 bus line at “Trieste e Trento” square, near the Naples Royal Palace. The bus will take you to the train station, where you have to take the CIRCUMVESUVIANA train to Sorrento.

Ercolano

Ercolano is one of the major Archeological site of the area.

You can reach the city by the “CIRCUMVESUVIANA” train.  

The train station is just a few meters opposite Hotel Oriente. Take the Naples direction.

 Stop at the “Ercolano Scavi” station. Them you are just about 500 meters from the Ercolano Archeological Site.

To reach the site, walk straight straight for 5-6 minutes.

To return to the Hotel Oriente, take the train that goes to Sorrento.
