CERN School of Computing 1997

Date and place of the School

Date and place

The twentieth CERN School of Computing will be held at the Hotel Floret Conference Centre in Pruhonice, Czech Republic, from Sunday, 17 August to Saturday, 30 August 1997.

Pruhonice is an attractive village, situated approximately 30 kms from the centre of Prague. The Conference Centre is located in what were originally the outbuildings of the Pruhonice castle, now the Institute of Ornamental Gardening. The site is very attractive as it is next to a vast botanical garden, formerly the castle grounds.

All those participating in the School will be lodged in comfortable double rooms with private bathrooms.

Students should reach Pruhonice for registration during the afternoon or early evening of Sunday, 17 August. The School will end on the morning of Saturday, 30 August after breakfast. The nearest international airport is Prague airport and it takes about 90 minutes to travel by public transport (underground railway/bus) from the airport to Pruhonice. It is planned to organise free transport from and to Prague airport on the days of arrival and departure of the students.
