Scientific Presentation at Opening Session

Scientific presentation:

Prof. EGIL LILLESTOL, University of Bergen

2008, the Start of an Era of Mind Boggling Discoveries

Abstract

Do we move towards a complete description of the material universe, from the smallest constituent particles to the largest structures in the universe, and to an understanding of the complete evolution from the Big Bang to the present time ?

The new scientific ”tool” at CERN, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and its gigantic experiments may give the answers we are searching for. And the start is foreseen for 2008.
