How to Apply

Procedure

If you wish to apply to the CERN School of Computing 2007 (1) as well as apply for a European Union grant, you must, you must follow two steps:

1.   

Fill out the  Web-based Application Form for CSC2007 and submit it electronically (not by hand-writing on a printed copy)
 

2.   

Send to the address below:

• A Letter of Reference on paper signed by your Professor or Supervisor in your organization (on formal headed paper from the applicant's institute/organization)

• The Certification Form (PDF version | Word version) on paper, signed by your Professor or Supervisor in your organization, to the address below.

The Letter of Reference and the Certification Form must be signed by your Professor or Supervisor in your organization, and sent via postal mail to Mrs. Fabienne Baud-Lavigne, CERN, IT Department, 1211 Geneva 23, Switzerland  by  the 15th May 2007.

Note: In case your application is nearing the deadline and you think there are risks that the paper versions of the Reference Letter and Certification Form do not reach CERN on time, please send before the deadline a fax of the two documents to the following number: +41 22 766 91 25  - Attention Mrs. Fabienne Baud-Lavigne:.
But beware, even though you fax these two documents, you must nevertheless send them by post without delay, for your application to be validated.

Deadline

The deadline for CERN to receive the full application (web application + letter of reference + certification form)  is the 15th May 2007.

Grants

Part or all of the fees, living and travel expenses may be reimbursed via a European Union FP6 programme grant. Check whether you are eligible for financial support.

Selection of participants

The number of participants is limited to 80.
The selection of the participants will be made by the Advisory Committee and participants will be informed of the outcome of their application by the middle of June 2007.

Note on Liability and Insurance

By his registration in the CERN School of Computing the participant acknowledges that he has taken note of- and accepts the provisions regarding liability and insurance as specified on the  CSC web site (Practical Information).

(1) Applications are for the entire programme. It is not possible to register for one theme only.
