All the players (and those who would like to help like Laura) are invited to meet, dressed fro tennis, at 17:30 in the Hotel Lobby.

We will give explanations as well as:

• Which label you have (A1, B2, D3, ....)

• When and where do you play

Note:

• We will play in Court 1 and Court   4 for the group phase from 18:00 to 20:00

• We will have court Court 4 from 20:0 to 21:0 for the  semi-finals and the final

All CERN IT participants have been allocated to Group 1.

First meeting with your mentor Today, Wednesday, 14:30, just after the last lecture of the day

We are pleased to announce that all 13 proposals have been accepted (there was one duplicate proposal).  A CSC mentor (a school lecturer) has been assigned to each presenter and will discuss the content with them. See details of proposals.

Beware: as all proposals are selected, the number of presentations will be unusually high. They will be strictly limited to 8 minutes plus 2 minutes for questions.

Almost all proposals have a content which is most likely to exceed 10 minutes. You are therefore invited to reflect on the essential points you would like to make, and to discuss it with your mentor).

We need help to form the Jury for the Photo Contest.

Remember:

We advise students to fill it out as they go along (e.g. after each series of lectures or exercises).
In particular, questionnaire contains appraisal questions of early classes, the memory of which may have blurred by the end of the school.

Andreas J. Peters arrived today. Andreas will assist Alberto in the running of the exercises on Data Technologies.

The solutions of the exercises of the Computer Architecture & Performance. Tuning series run by Sverre Jarp and Andrzej Nowak are available on the school exercise server. A full 15-page document is available with explanations.

You may now know whether you do beach only (8 people), Beach and Kayaking only (11 people), Beach + Diving only (23 people) or Beach Plus the two sports.

Hi  Alberto

Welcome to  Alberto Pace , Lecturer at CSC1013 and member of the CSC Advisory Committee. He just arrived today, and is joining us for the excursion.

He will give lectures and exercises on Data Technologies.

Alberto is also ... ... an expert Scuba Diver and an excellent Volleyball player ...

• Sport center directions and details
• Available facilities nearby the hotel and the campus (cash dispenser, currency exchange, supermarket, shopping, public transportation, taxis, laundromat)
  PDF version of the Table of Facilities

A study room is available to all participants. It is i the secretariat corridor, adjacent to the Buffer room.

It will be open daily  from our morning arrival to our evening departure.

If you do not need your bags during afternoons (because of sports or any other activities) they may be safely left in the CSC Buffer Room adjacent to the CSC Secretariat  as follows:

• On the Hiltonia Terrace of the Hilton Hotel (near the swimming pool) .
