Evening Lecture

Tonight, lecture room, 20:30. Details and abstract.
This evening lecture offers a unique dual opportunity:

• first serve as an introduction to one of the hotest topics of the decade regarding intellectual property: the issue of software patenting

• second, present the European Patent Office, which is hiring and offers unique opportunities for young computer scientists.

The lecture is given by Dr. Carlos Rivero and Dr. Martin Liendl from EPO. Note that Martin is a former computing physicist and former lecturer at CSCs.

They are available Monday and Tuesday at all breaks and lunches / dinner to answers questions and provide more information.

Disco

Those interested may join us tonight, 24 August, to a music place in Dubrovnik: Fuego Latinos in Dubrovnik old town entrance.

The place opens at 22:00. In general, until midnight, it is more a music-bar ambiance, after midnight., more a disco ambiance.

• Depending on your music and dance preferences, you may go on your own before or after midnight.

• For those who would prefer to go there as a group, we may gather at 22:00 in the hotel reception. Proposed option for the group: we may first walk around in the old town, and then  join the place at around 23:30.

How to get there:
Take bus 6, exit at Pile station (Old town). Fuego Latinos is just twenty meters from the bus stop, on the right hand side.

Beware that the evening is entirely at your own charge

The traditional CSC football match will take place Wednesday 29th  late afternoon (18:00-19_45) on a full -size grass football pitch.

The match involves all those willing, beginners and experienced, male and female, students and organizers, old and young, tall and short ... players. Frequent rotations are aimed at, then a maximum of players is expected.

Confirmation of change
 

We confirm that, because of strong wind forecasts for the 22nd of August, the afternoon programmes of the 22nd and the 23rd (Thursday) have to be swapped.
The half-day sport/excursion programme will therefore take place Thursday 23.
